You may remember that ASC youth sailor Iona spent the whole of 2018 raising money for Water Aid and the Guide Dogs. After many cake bakes, sponsorships and sailing events she raised the fabulous sum of £1000 which was split equally between the two charities.
Today, 8 month old white Labrador Harvey and 2 year old black Labrador Abby paid a visit to ASC to say thank you to Iona for her fantastic efforts.
‘Puppy walkers’ Anne and Peter Russell explained that from the age of 7 weeks these puppies are gradually introduced to various environments through ‘walking’ and at 1 year the puppies are handed over for 3 months formal training before they are assigned to an owner. With a typical working life of 8 to 10 years, costing a total per dog of £50,000, Iona’s efforts were much appreciated and very necessary.
