Rachel Gerova & Lucy Abel have very kindly agreed to run a Cèilidh for the club free of charge! For those of you unfamiliar, a Cèilidh is an informal version of Scottish or Irish country dancing.
You don’t need to know anything at all, and generally everyone has a good laugh spinning each other around as fast as they can without falling over. (At least this is traditionally my experience of them!)
This will be combined with an on the balcony BBQ to embrace the summer vibes, which seem to have well and truly hit with this latest heatwave!

In case you haven’t BBQ’d with us before, we have a gas-powered BBQ that is available for anyone to use. Just bring your own food along and cook it up yourself at your leisure. Additionally, bringing along other savouries and cakes to share would be well appreciated!
If you have any dietary requirements, unfortunately, we cannot guarantee any amount of cross-contamination risks due to the public nature of the grill, but we will do our best to manage.
This is also open to any friends & family who would like to join a social evening, even if they’re not normal members.
Schedule:
- BBQ start: 6:00 pm
- Dancing: 7:30 pm onwards
- Carriages: 10:30 pm
Dress code:
Smart Casual – kilts are entirely optional.
Registration:
Whilst this is a free event, we do ask that you RSVP so that we can manage numbers.
Some of our new members will be along for an orientation session earlier in the day, so this will be a great time to put some names to faces and kick off the summer with a jig and a reel.
