Compound Clean Up Work Party – Sat 5th Feb

Compound Clean Up Work Party – Sat 5th Feb

It’s great that for our 5th Work Party of 2022 we had more folk come down, to help out for the first time this year.

Looking good from the railway

Between us we managed to clear vegetation beneath Boat Rows A, D and the row of Club Boats in front of the club house, this morning.

Other tasks included:

  • clearing the plot behind the row of Containers and stacking the released Road Trailers more visibly for their owners to reclaim. If you have stored your trailer behind the Containers in the past – do come and re-claim it and store it beneath your boat.
    Is one of these yours?

Can you see yours in here?

  • the Pontoon Platoon continued their cleaning and re-roping of the pontoons and clearing the Barge
Bright white re-roped pontoon

  • disposing of the vegetation clearance off-cuts and of life-expired wooden craft – thanks to the bush-craft and pyrotechnical skills of the Explorer Scouts’ District Quartermaster: Chris Coats
  • waters edge vegetation clearance – with special thanks to Bill Sheppard for his sterling work mid-week

There will be a Work Party each Saturday morning from 9 – noon, up to 5th March (inclusive).
So, why don’t you come on down next Saturday morning, to join us, as we continue with these works.  You’ll help us as we endeavour to improve the overall experience at ASC this coming Season. It will also help us as we encourage more of us | on the water | more of the time, in 2022.   You may even be rewarded with real Coffee and treats to re-energise you til noon!
