Sunday Racing in Sunny Weather

Great courses by Race Officer Mike Pritchard and excellent weather and wind produced two excellent races on Sunday. The Gold fleet was won by Paul Jago from Ray Kemish and Bob Cuerstemont. Paul leads overall from Mike Pritchard and Ray with Bob and Jill Reid in contention. With two races to go, Andrew Beaumont is relegated to the silver fleet and Malcolm Davidson and Roger Day are in danger of joining him.

The Silver fleet was won by Kevin Last with Dennis and Janice King second and Iona Reid and looks like these three crews will be promoted come 7th of July. Richard Savage is relegated and looks like a three way tussle for the remaining relegation space.

In the bronze fleet, Duncan Adams won from Jeff Marshall and Peter Hampshire. Don Bishop leads overall from Duncan and Paul Kelly. All to play for and does depend who turns up for teh next two races,

The Fast and Slow fleets race was held in gusty conditions with a few nice reaches and gybes added, leading to a busy Safety crew of Saul Tendler and Duncan Miller. The Fast fleet was won rather surprisingly by Kevin Last from Duncan Adams given latter’s reaching speed, with Paul Jago winning the Slow fleet from Ray Kemish and Louis Mok. Malcolm Davidson made an admirable claim for Flying centreboard and his upturned yellow Comet features in a photo below.
