October Pursuit Drifts to a Conclusion

Almost non-existent wind featured in the 90 minute pursuit race. The Comets were first away with Paul Jago taking an early lead. The next group saw the Lasers and and Streaker start 8 minutes later with Mike Pritchard somehow managing to be over the line. Final group away were the Supernovas who started during one of the slight bits of wind and soon caught the Lasers up, although then drifted back.

After the first lap of 56 minutes, Paul Jago was 4 minutes ahead of Mike Pritchard with Don Bishop a further 3 minutes behind. Mike slowly hauled in Paul on the last beat and when the 90 minutes were up he had a lead of a minute from Paul with Bob Cuerstemont third in his Supernova with a great performance leaving Don Bishop fourth. Special mention to the only junior in the race, Reuben Tendler, who was fourth after the first lap.

Due to lack of wind the second race was not held so Mike won overall from Paul and Bob.
