Nominations can now be made for the committee positions for the next year. This year I have been proud to lead a highly professional committee that has driven the club forward on and off the water with sailing numbers up and with a new clubhouse to be completed early next year. A number of the committee are standing down as they have been on the committee for many years. Next year will be a very exciting one for the club as we open the new club house and start to fulfil our commitment to Sport England to become an expanding and more family orientated and diverse club that better represents our local community in Broxtowe. It would therefore be good to have more family and female members on the committee so it is better balanced and fully represents the club membership, well over half of whom are female or children although perception might suggest otherwise.
I appreciate many of you have busy lives but the committee is more strategic then operational and meets eleven times a year and the minimum commitment is to attend the majority of these meetings. Any Full or Family member can stand and as often only the main Family member gets contact from the club do ensure your husband, wife or partner is aware of the opportunity.
