KINGFISHER CUP & LADIES PLATE

Sunday 24th September
We had twenty boats take to the water yesterday for this years Kingfisher Cup and four Ladies competed in the Ladies Plate. The weather was bright, sunny and the wind quite consistent throughout the race.

The Kingfisher Cup is a 90 minute handicap which this year used the modified ASC handicaps. The Ladies Plate was ended after 60 minutes but they all continued to complete the 90 minute race as well.

The wind was predominantly from the SSE which is not the best direction to set up a good course but Brian Dennis did a good job in ensuring we managed all points of sailing.

The fleet got away with just Bob Ceustemont being over the line at the start gun but he soon not only caught up but found his way through the fleet. Jill Reid got away well and continued to maintain a position near the front but no-one could keep up with Duncan Adams who managed to lap everyone with the exception of Kevin Last and Bob Ceustemont in their Supernova and the Marlow’s sailing their Lark.
