With a new Series being added for the 2017 season we kicked off with the first pursuit and handicap races of the year. All results based on the asc Py’s
With an excellent fresh to fruity breeze with the sun beating down the contest kicked off, Paul J got what looked like a good lead from the comet pack as did Kev last, they both set off pulling away from their fleets. When Duncan finally got away as the only Phantom on the water there was a nice gap to catch up; he set to chasing down the rest of the fleet.
Everyone seemed to be having a good race within the fleets and mixing up with the faster boats which were also topped of with a great course set by Rob the ood.
The last 5 minutes got fascinating in the race, Kev L had court Paul who was now leading the race, and I was not far behind chasing them down. Which causes a great end with Kev keeping ahead of me sadly I was a little court up with racing Kev down I am not sure what happened behind, so I am sure the results will tell the story.
The Handicap race was set off with another great course but sadly not many boats on the line; another great race was had by all who stuck it out.
