Boxing Day Win for Nick and Robert Marlow

Boxing Day race was held in lovely sunny weather with enough wind to get the fleet planning and swimming. Dave Bexson had a stunning start to lead the fleet on a downwind run to the first mark and held position as top Supernova for over a lap. The four Supernovas had some intense racing over the course of the four laps before Roger Day came out on top beating Rob Corner by two seconds. Meanwhile Kevin Milton sailed around and took line honours but a swim meant the handicap system meant he came fifth overall one second behind Dave Bexson on corrected time. Meanwhile after a slow start Nick and Robert Marlow worked their way through the fleet and eventually finished second on the water but winning overall, beating Roger by 50 seconds on corrected time (Nick – there is a bottle of Rioja in the clubhouse for you). Kevin Last, Jill Reid and Andrew Beaumont had steady races whilst Louis Mok had a few swims. Special mention to Iona Reid who did very well in her Topper in the gusty conditions.

Sailing season over now until 5th March but we have a WORKING PARTY ON FRIDAY 30TH DECEMBER TO WORK ON DRAI8NAGE, WALKWAYS AND INTERNAL FITTINGS. PLEASE TRY AND ATTEND AND THEN EVERY SATURDAY AFTERWARDS FROM JANUARY 7TH.
